Happy New Year to our wonderful customers, new and old! Going into the New Year we want our customers to understand more about what makes our business run. 

We are a proud member and associate of the ‘Made In Britain’ manufacturing initiative. This initiative is a way for bed manufacturers like ourselves to promote ethical business practices without cutting corners in terms of pricing and quality. 

Let’s look more into Made In Britain and what we stand for working in collaboration with them. 

A brief history on Made In Britain

Back in 2011 Made In Britain was founded as a marketing campaign and was made by Stoves, a manufacturer within the United Kingdom. 

When initially launched the project was a great success as over 600 businesses flocked in to have the badge of honour on their websites and has gone on to become a nationwide renowned organisation. They have gone on to start their initiative in Northern Ireland with ‘Made In Northern Ireland’. 

Whilst being a known entity, Made In Britain is a non-profit organisation. They work alongside “UK trade bodies, UK government departments Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Department for International Trade (DIT), and the UK media to support skilled jobs, responsible business, and sustainable growth.” 

You will see The Made In Britain logo around the Next Divan website. Only approved organisations can do this, meaning we have received a stamp of approval from MIB officially!

What does this mean?

This is a good question. Being a part of The Made In Britain scheme means that our business practices for manufacturing our product range has been approved by them. 

In a period in history where ethical business practices is a must, we have made it our duty at Next Divan to provide environmentally conscious bed frames, mattresses and headboards for U.K homes. 

The materials we use come from a long time business and manufacturing partner of ours, John Cotton. They are a materials provider with over 100 years of experience and have had a hand in our businesses for well over a decade now. 

By choosing the Next Divan collection you are buying bedroom products that are made with ethically sourced materials. Furthermore, it must be added that our materials are locally sourced also which is great as carbon emissions are reduced. 

When buying from Next Divan you are not only guaranteed quality and comfort, but also a guaranteed positive impact on the environment. Whilst there are many bed manufacturers on the market, we pride ourselves in bringing a new approach to manufacturing without reducing quality and customer satisfaction.
