Get the look this season with the Minimalist design trend currently making the rounds on social media.

Trends come and go, however the minimalist design trend has become heavily influential especially since the birth of the internet.

Due to how many products and ideas are out there it’s hard to decide how you want your room to be presented.

Read on to find out more on how to achieve a minimal bedroom look below!

What is ‘minimalism’?

Minimalism to some is a way of life, where those participating only focus on the things in life that matter.

Eliminating distractions that are not necessarily needed, as others may see this as normal to have.

Minimalism became a heavy part of arts and design not long after World War 2, starting off in the United States of America.

When looking at minimalism through the eyes of a designer, it allows a lot to be portrayed through very little.

Take the image above as an example of this. The constant white colouring found on the wallpaper and furniture creates a solid consistency for the colour, which in turn creates an effective  environment despite the lack of colour and design.

Our top tips for the best minimalistic bedroom design

If the minimalist approach sounds appealing to you when you’re working out your bedroom’s design then it’s a lot easier to start than one might think…

  • Declutter

Getting rid of your old belongings can be hard, however, doing so gives you a lot more time, space and resources that can be focused on the design of your bedroom.

Having a declutter is essential also for your wellbeing. As time goes on we spend more time in our rooms than in the past due to new work opportunities and styles.

‘A tidy room is a tidy mind.’

  • Wallpaper

Your wall-paper choice can really emphasise the minimal design for your room.

No matter the size of your room, wallpaper will take up a lot of space and attention on the eye. Having wallpaper with little design and more emphasis on colouring is important. We recommend a cream or white finish.

  • Bed and Bedding choice

If you are able to fit a bigger sized bed in your bedroom then it is suggested to do so.

Having the bigger bed allows the room to showcase its main priority rather than showing off your possessions.

Our range of Queen and King size beds will be a perfect fit for this style. All of which have over 50 colours and fabrics to choose from giving you complete control over your order.

If this is not possible don’t worry too much.

Your next focus can then be put onto the bedding for your duvet. Again less is more, so opting for just a plain white design fits the minimalist design perfectly!

However if you are feeling abstract, choosing a duvet with a similar colour to your walls will allow any colours you do have to stand out more.

The photo above is a great example of this. You can see how the rug’s design is able to stand out due to the consistent white tone found throughout the wallpaper and duvet.
